Are Youths All Talk No Action? One Young World Malaysia team takes a closer look.

The Impact Report has finally been made downloadable at

The One Young World ‘IMPACT’ Report 2011, in which youths are featured, was a success.
Our team was able to reach out to 68 youth leaders from 62 different societies / communities. A total number of 100 projects are featured, all of which involved a collective number of 7,536 volunteers. But the most amazing thing is, these 100 projects have touched 147,936 lives.
Second, this report was showcased in One Young World at Zurich in front world leaders, few of whom were Crown Prince Haakon of Norway; Paul Polman, Global CEO of Unilever; Doug Richard, Entrepreneur and Founder of School of Startups; Antony Jenkins, Chief Executive of Barclays Global Retail Banking; and Jean-Paul Agon, Chairman of L’Oreal. It was also presented at the Mashable Social Good Summit during the United Nations Week in New York.

The team would like to thank for all the support and the good work the youths, NGO's, and most of all what the good-willed sponsors have done. Please do not stop bringing goodness and change to this world, as you have already done so well.

Our Report, Now Online

Finally, we have uploaded the entire report online, check it out here.

The One Young World ‘Impact’ Report features top Malaysian youth leaders and showcase 100 youth projects from Malaysia. The Impact report addresses the participation of young people in tackling pressing issues and creating positive impact in their respective communities.  Alongside these are forewords from the Hon. Prime Minister of Malaysia, the CEO of MDeC Malaysia and the Youth Trust Foundation, myHarapan.

It was presented to 1200 youths from 170 countries. It also landed in the hands of HKH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, who is also the co-founder of Global Dignity; Kate Robertson and David Jones, who are the founders of the One Young World Summits.

Through this report, the team hopes to empower the youths, - from young leaders at One Young World Summit to, most importantly, Malaysians from all aspects of society - to realize their ideas and solutions for their communities. One can observe all those skills which would be needed for a youth leader to lead campaigns and movements.

Bernie's Experience at The One Young World Summit

Hope life is exciting where you are!

At the one young world youth summit last weekend in Zurich (www.oneyoungworld.com), they had 170 countries represented and over 1200 youths. it was truly an experience to listen to others share about the issues in their respective countries and the actions taken to solve them. Many powerful sharing sessions by youth and global leaders.
After a week in Zurich, Switzerland, I'm am now in London with my family.
So far so amazing. In terms of travelling in the Swiss country side, I have been to the Zurich zoo, interlaken / Swiss alps, Bern (capital city), Luzern, and Geneva.

Fresh air, clear blue water and many fluffy swans. I love the spinach quiche here.

After returning to Malaysia on 17th Sept, I'll be hanging around Singapore for a bit. Miss the paradise island a lot. Can't wait to see the Botanical Gardens again, there's nothing like it.

So seize the day and enjoy the good life along with the many pleasant surprises it brings !

Launching Towards the Summit

First off, this 31st of August is Malaysia’s 54th Independence Day! We usually name it Merdeka Day, Mederka meaning freedom in the Bahasa Malaysia language.

We, the One Young World Impact Report are proud to proclaim the completion of our report a few days ago.

After a penultimate look through by Mushamir and Jonathan, coupled with a post-launch meeting with Lionel, we discussed about what other things have been left out or needed to be added. We decided that a circular flag of Malaysia had to be included to polish the report in Malaysia’s pride. With email instructions, Jon supervised our art director Bernie for the last, final touches, and it was finally sent to the printer.

The report will be published soon. Please stay updated with this blog as we will announce its printing completion.

For now, Mushamir and Lionel are staying behind in Malaysia to handle the local media in Malaysia in spreading awareness about this report and One Young World.

Visionary Leader Michael Teoh, Project Leader/Editor Jonathan and Art Director Bernie are off to Zurich, Switzerland, for the One Young World Summit 2011 along with the CEO of MyHarapan, Mr. Roslan!

We wish them all the best of luck! Make Malaysia proud!

Mission Possible!

We, the team, are proud to announce that the final draft of the report (revised by each and every member meticulously), has been completed and sent for printing!

The game plan was to have the report published and printed before the One Young World Summit. However due to time constraints and needing additional editing on the report, reviewed by all of the team members, it will  be published the week after Jonathan's and Bernie's return from the One Young World Summit.

But good news awaits! Jonathan has prepared 10 reports from a publisher for specific distribution at the summit.

The team are all looking forward to see our final published work in our hands.
